This Privacy Notice describes how we handle personal data when you use GetProofed (getproofed.ai), related pages, and Pro checkout. By using GetProofed, you agree to this notice.

1. Definitions

Nonpersonal data (NPD) is information that is not personally identifiable.

Personal data (PD) means information relating to an identified or identifiable person (sometimes called PII), such as name, email, phone, billing address, or online identifiers.

2. Your rights

Contact us at support@getproofed.ai to exercise privacy rights. We aim to respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live (including CCPA/CPRA, GDPR/UK GDPR, PIPEDA, and similar laws), your rights may include:

• Equal service and price even if you exercise privacy rights
• Knowing whether PD is sold or disclosed, and to whom (we do not sell PD for marketing)
• Access, correction, and — where applicable — deletion or restriction of PD
• Portability of PD you provided to us, subject to trade secrets and legal limits
• Objecting to certain processing (including direct marketing)
• Designating an authorized agent where the law allows
• Filing a complaint with a supervisory authority

We make reasonable efforts to honor access requests even when not strictly required, but we may decline requests we are not legally obligated to fulfill.

3. Information we collect

On-device job records (Phase 1)

Project names, photos, notes, visit logs, and related job records are stored in your browser / on your device (for example localStorage and IndexedDB). GetProofed does not currently host your photo library on our servers. Clearing site data or switching devices removes that local data unless and until we offer optional cloud sync (which we would disclose in-product).

Account and Pro billing

When you start Pro or complete checkout, we may collect: name, email, phone, business name, trade, and billing-related details. Card data is collected through NMI Collect.js / hosted fields and tokenized by our processor — we do not store full card numbers or CVV on GetProofed servers.

Automatic / technical data

Like most sites, we may receive IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referrer, and pages viewed. We may use cookies or similar tools (strictly necessary, functional, and optionally analytics). You can disable cookies in your browser; some features may not work.

Analytics

If we use analytics tools (for example Google Analytics), they collect usage metrics to improve the product. You can opt out of Google Analytics via Google’s opt-out where applicable.

Contact forms / email

If you email us or use a contact form, we receive whatever you send (typically name, email, and message content).

4. Legal basis

Where GDPR-style rules apply, we process PD as needed to perform a contract (providing GetProofed / Pro), to take steps before a contract, for legitimate interests in securing and improving the service, and/or with consent where required (for example certain cookies or marketing).

5. How we use and share information

• Provide and improve GetProofed
• Process Pro subscriptions and send receipts / service notices
• Respond to support requests and resolve disputes
• Protect against fraud and abuse
• Comply with law

We do not sell or rent your PD for marketing. We may share PD with service providers who help us operate the product (payment processor/gateway, hosting, email delivery, analytics), under obligations to protect it. We may disclose PD if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, sale, or bankruptcy as described for “successors.”

6. Retention

On-device job data lasts until you delete it or clear browser storage. Billing and account records are kept as long as needed for legal, tax, and business purposes, then deleted or anonymized.

7. Children

GetProofed is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect PD from children under 16. Contact us if you believe a child has provided PD so we can delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures appropriate to Phase 1 (HTTPS/TLS for the website and checkout; processor tokenization for cards; on-device storage for job photos). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. See also our Security and Secure Checkout pages.

9. International transfers

If you access GetProofed from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the U.S. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards or derogations for specific situations.

10. Do Not Track

Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals. Our site may not respond to DNT signals; you can limit tracking via browser controls and cookie settings.

11. Changes

We may update this notice by posting a new version on this page. Material changes to how we use PD may also be noticed by email when we have your address. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated notice.
